Be Still, My Soul
Hey friends! Good morning from President's house! What's pday without a random sidequest? This morning I woke up, made a quick trip to the hospital (don't worry I was just the translator), and then Sister Andrade asked if we wanted to have lunch at their house with some old missionaries, Elder Bahia and Elder Bowen. Of course I had to say yes. So now writing, chilling on President's couch.
Ok update, literally the only part I wrote at President's house was the intro and I have not talked to my family yet so this is gonna be really quick.
Rain, Rain, and More Rain
This week was pretty dreary. It was rainy and cold all week long. Figuratively and literally. There were eventful things that I observed from a far but nothing that involved me directly. There was an emergency transfer that involved my trio but luckily my trio was the solution not the problem. I became a grandpa! My comp and I were finishing the training of Elder Lima here in the office but less than 10 days in he got called up to train a new American. So now I have a grandson! Luckily we all still live in the same house so it's chill (may or may not have taken my grandson to the hospital today).
Saturday was probably the most difficult day of my mission. We walked. And walked. And walked. For 6 hours straight, knocked a million doors, and didn't end up talking to anyone. Not a single one of our friends, dates, or recent converts responded to us. There was one point that my comp and I just laid down in the middle of the road, beat and exhausted. And we both served in the interior so we know what it's like to walk… it was awful.
Sunshine After Rain
After an absolutely blessed Saturday (haha you should laugh at my joke I think it’s funny), we had some miracles at church! A member brought two friends and some inactive members that we had been visiting showed up out of nowhere! I, unfortunately, did not get to stay at Church to talk to them because there was a medical emergency buttttt my comp was able to stay and teach them, even invite them to baptism! Stay posted.
Today we went to go visit our dates that disappeared off the grid and to my surprise they let us in. The message was super spiritual. Lowkey teared up a good bit. We were able to remark one of them for two weeks from now. Please pray that it all works out! Then on the Uber ride home the driver was playing “Be Still, My Soul” which was a nice little reminder I needed after the frustrating week.
The Things I Forgot About
Thursday we took a sidequest to the Peruvian consulate. We hit up the most famous road in São Paulo, Av. Paulista.
We ordered pizza to make up for all the rain and then again to celebrate the emergency transfer (lol)
Went on top of a building and was able to see 5 different missions from there
Had feijoada de verdade (not a fan)

Sorry this was a shorter email. It was kinda a filler week. I think the most random sidequest was today, my pday. But yeah that is that. Oh I almost forgot, next week I won't email until Thursday because it is temple week! I am so excited; it's been a hot minute since I have gone.
