Headed Into Number Five
Hey friends! This update is gonna be super quick for two reasons: transfers and I have nothing to write about. But it’s ok, I am doing great! Oh and transfer news… bro I don’t really know. I kinda just exist. My grandson became my son but like that won’t last very long and then I will be companionless and just existing. It’s gonna be great!
The Highlights and Miracles
Right off the bat, Tuesday was crazy. We had district counsel but even before that two zones showed up at the office out of nowhere. President also lost his key so I went over and opened everything up and let people in. That was hectic. Then we had district counsel and the sisters made french toast (shout out to them). Not even 10 minutes after that my comp disappeared and I was left to hold down the fort. He went to do some housing inspections. He got back and everything broke loose. The goal was to open a new house by the end of the week but the area just decided to take the week off. We also had to be at the airport at three to drop an Elder off. After a fervent prayer, and through some miracle work by God, we were able to get a 4 day process done in 6 hours and open that house. The only issue is that we were running late to the airport. As I was making the security deposit we were getting in the Uber and on our way to the airport. The cut off time for the flight was 15h40… our ETA was 15h36… and the prayers started again. I then realized that they got the Uber to a hotel 30 minutes away from the airport… not the airport. Luckily the Uber driver was chill and took us to the airport. Being very close on time I had to do online check-in while on the way to the airport. There was a 50/50 shot that it would work (Spoiler: it did). We got to the airport and checked his bags at 15h38. The miracles were real. Eventually I made it back to the office, made a few visits to some recent converts and friends, and then I don’t remember what happened after that.
Wednesday was another early start but that is all I know about that. Oh wait actually we went to the Visitors Center with one of our friends. The best Visitors Center tour I have ever been on. It was so fun. Also the surviving part of the district was in the office all at the same time so that was fun. Thursday was interview day with transfer prep mixed in. It was hectic. My comp was loaded with stuff, and so I ended up going appliance shopping with our AP. I think I wore him out a bit, he was out. We got back and I had my interview with Presidente. My interview was incredible. He hyped me up and then responded to questions I had but didn’t even ask him. It was so good. Friday was that calm before the storm. Nothing crazy happened. The Brazil area broke down so that was super funny. My guy was crashing out. Hey, they did it to themselves (I love my analysts).
Saturday we walked a lot. Went back to Vista Verde lol. We went to see a family and they bought us food. Immediately after our third member of our trio got sick and the members gave us a ride home. Sunday was chill. The APs had a baptism which was super spiritual for me. It was a mom with a 4 month old child. When she sat down to be confirmed I started tearing up, I could see the need she had for baptism. It made me so happy to see a mom getting her and her child on the right path and seeing the support system she now had around her as a member. It was a very special moment. From that the day went on as normal, we didn’t have lunch so my comp cooked while I cleaned. I then edited the mission newsletter and we went to make a visit. I decided I wouldn’t bring anything because it was a quick contact. The second we left it started pouring. Down pouring. I got soaked in my suit. Drenched, head to toe. After that we had our transfer call and that was the end of the week.

Walking in the rain
While we were at the Visitors Center we saw a man sitting in the back and as we were leaving we decided to go talk to him. We went to greet him and his face lit up. We found out he was a recent convert that is the only member in his family. He also told us that he had just submitted papers to go on a mission! He asked if he could take a picture with us and of course we did. Seeing the light on his face talking to us made my day.
Encouraging words from friends all week
Spiritual Thought
President invited me to read the New Testament these next two transfers and it has been incredible, even just 3 days in. Reading how the Savior lived and continues to live has made my connection to Him even more personal. One of my favorite talks is “Love All; Love Each” by Elder Gérald Caussé. As I study more and more of the Savior’s life and Atonement I feel how infinite yet personal His love is. I love my Savior and I know He loves me and you, to each one of us he personalizes His love, not making it any more or any less, but in a way that we feel it for us. In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Today was pre-transfer day so the work was on and off all day (hence the late email). Tomorrow I have a 3:30am call time. Please pray for me ahahah. It’s gonna be a great week! I hope y’all have a fantastic week as well. Let me know if you need anything!
Tchau!
