Miracles Without Number

Hey friends! What is uppppp??? This week was so exhausting but for a different reason… we actually worked in the field this week!! Crazy I know right? It was actually so much fun and we saw so many miracles!

Our Area, God's Work

This week we had a divisão, a holiday, a ward activity, and a whole Saturday of work! Way more time than normal to work in our area. It was amazing! Let me tell you about some of the miracles!!

On Wednesday we had a divisão with our LZs. I stayed in our area and my LZ and I just started cleaning our area book, contacting referrals, for an hour. Afterwards we went and did some contacts and we just chatted in the road. The miracle of the divisão was that I was actually able to make my LZ laugh and smile. It was pretty great.

Thursday morning we ended our divisão and it was a full work day. The office was closed because it was a holiday here in Brazil. It was awesome, we walked so much and found so many people that had been placed in our path. We found one lady that has been waiting over a year to receive her Book of Mormon and when we got there she was so happy. The fact that she remembered ordering one was a miracle itself and then she said she would read it!! After teaching her we walked away and I told my comp I felt so good inside and that the spirit was lifting us up. Later on we were knocking on a door that had no one in it when a girl and her little sister walked by. We talked to them and they said they wanted to come to church with their family. They were so happy and listened to every word. A lot of walking later with not much more success we knocked a door just as a group of friends was leaving the apartment. One girl stopped to listen to us talk about Jesus Christ and His church while her friends went off without her. She listened patiently and agreed to meet with us again! Immediately after that a guy stopped as he was walking past us and we got to talk to him about the gospel and invite him to Church. So many miracles! It was such a happy day.

Friday we worked in the office but we were able to sneak in some lessons over the phone with some of the people from Thursday! That night we played volleyball as a ward and so many people came. It was awesome. We even had a friend and his wife come.

Saturday it was back in the area! The first miracle of the day was our lunch. We had lunch with a member but it fell. A few minutes later I got a text that President dropped off some food for us in the office that his wife made. Blessing. We went over there and started eating, then we got a phone call that some members wanted us to come over for pizza. Miracle. After some lunch it was off to work. We found a mom and daughter that worked in a little store together and invited them to Church. That was the way at the beginning of the day and the day went on and on with not much success until we knocked on a door! Another guy that tried to talk to the missionaries almost 2 years ago and remembered! We got to talk to him and invite him and his family to church. They are christians but have not been able to go to church. He is also planning on getting married in late fall!! Elect but he doesn't know it yet.

As we went on we ran into a member. The member was joking with us saying that he didn't think they sent missionaries to this part anymore (since we don't get out that much). He is the owner of an apartment complex and he said he would go with us on Monday to knock on every door. Miracle number not sure lost count. Then he offered us lunch if we didn't have it marked. We ended the day off teaching the portaria of an apartment complex. A young adult who doesn't have much of a religion but wants to learn more! So many people were put in our path on Thursday and Saturday. On Sunday we had a member from a ward two hours away come bring his friend to visit. After church and lunch we stayed in because my comp got sick but there were stilñ miracles! While he was fast asleep we got a text from someone wanting to learn more. Following that I was able to teach three people over the phone. Infinite miracles this week. I really got to see how the Lord was multiplying our efforts even though we don't get to work on the road too much. It was such a good week.

Another?

Yours truly has another assignment! I am now in charge of the Mission Newsletter! I woke up one morning to a text from my beloved APs informing me that I would be in charge. I walked in one day to tell President I heard I would be in charge and he leaned back in his chair, took a deep breath, and said “Pois é” (or “Tell me about it”), it was super funny. After a transfer of there not being one I get to do it. It is gonna be so so good I just need the missionaries to participate (bro so much easier said than done). It is going to be vídeo format too so you already know I'm gonna love it.

Office Shenanigans and Other Stuff

  • Spent two hours in a Samsung store just for our problems to not be solved

  • Got frustrated a the lady working at our phone carrier, we just wanted to spend money (#imtryingtobelikejesus)

  • Bought 19 pillows, 19 blankets, 19 sets of bedding, 19 mattress protectors and fit it all in two Ubers. We walked in the stores and before we made it halfway in everyone had already greeted us and asked how we were. All the employees know who we are because we always buy stuff from there. We don't even have to shop; they just have the stuff ready.

  • My comp got cooked by a member at lunch

  • I got to help make the new mission logo (don't tell Church Headquarters)

  • Had our missionary correlation meeting and I did it all by myself since we were on a divisão and it was just in spanish

  • Was going to bed sunday night when the AP called…

  • Woke up this morning, ran over to the office, got a phone call from Sister Andrade and then p-day started

  • Zone p-day today!!

Quotes

“What the frick are you gonna change that is gonna be a big change? Like they have to tie each other's shoes or something. Be so for real” [Unknown, 7/6/2026]

“Você lê o jornal” [Presidente Andrade, 7/9/2026]

God's Hand

  • Everything that happened this week

  • Lunch being canceled then uncancelled

  • Got to watch a sunset and just chat with my comp

  • When the dots just connect about questions I have or something someone said

Spiritual Thought

A phrase that I thought a lot about this week is “The Church of Joy.” But Elder Urbano I thought it is “The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?” Exactly right. Jesus Christ is the source of all joy. Doctrine and Covenants 101:36 says “...for in this world your joy is not full, but in me your joy is full.” We may find a good feeling, a smile, or even a laugh in things but we will find joy, eternal joy, when we abide in Christ. That is why this is the Church of Joy, because we abide in Christ. He is the center of our doctrine and our eternal joy. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Well, after a week of miracles in the field we are gonna pray for two weeks of miracles in the office as we prep for transfer week. You would think transfers would be easier with half the mission gone but with my luck it won’t be. I hope you all saw some miracles this week as well! Please share them with me, I would love to hear. I love you all and hope you enjoyed this email!

Adeus,

Elder Urbano
